Kevin Hershey is a writer and social worker in New York City.

His work has appeared in The New York Times, Orion Magazine, Crab Creek Review, and Open Global Rights, and is forthcoming in North American Review. Kevin won the 2023 Anne C. Barnhill Prize for Creative Nonfiction and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for his essay “Three Fairies.” Jean Smart is developing a limited series inspired by Kevin’s Modern Love Column, “Young, Gay and Single Among the Nuns and Widows” , as seen in Deadline. Kevin is a consulting producer on the project. He has Master’s Degrees in Early Childhood Education and Social Work.
